How We Help Brands Get Merch Ready

Plenty of brands can print a t-shirt. Fewer can take a brand from "we've got a logo and an idea" to "the order is in customers' hands" without it becoming someone's second job. This page walks through exactly how we work with a brand - using DRS Apparel as the worked example, because they came to us with a specific problem worth copying.

For more brand-building advice, read our streetwear brand infrastructure guide and guide to starting your own apparel brand. We also offer custom t shirt printing Australia brands can order online.

What "merch ready" actually means

Being merch ready isn't having a design. It's having a design, a garment, a size range, a quantity and an approval - all settled before anything is printed. Most delays we see aren't production problems. They're decisions that hadn't been made yet.

We print using DTG, DTF and screen printing - three methods, no embroidery, no stitching, no printing on garments you supply yourself. That narrowness is deliberate: it's what lets us move quickly and keep quality predictable.

The four steps

1. Design online

Pick your garment, upload your artwork, and lay it out using our online tools. Size, placement, colour, quantity - all visible before you commit.

2. Approve the details

Check sizes, colours, quantities and placement, then approve everything online. Nothing goes to print until you've signed it off.

3. We print

We print using DTG, DTF and screen printing. Bulk runs are arranged offline by email so we can schedule them properly - you send sizes, quantities and your deadline, we confirm the details and quote the run.

4. We ship

Single and small online orders are shipping-only; no customer pickup. Orders placed before the 10:00 AM AEST cut-off on same-day garments are printed and despatched the same day, and most metro orders arrive within 48 hours of despatch.

Worked example: DRS Apparel

DRS Apparel is a custom car apparel brand built by Jessie Jay - automotive streetwear rooted in JDM and motorsport culture, and built women-first.

The problem Jess was solving

If you're a woman at a car meet, your merch options have historically been two things: a boxy men's tee, or a smaller men's shirt with a slap of neon pink to make it read as "girly." Neither is a fit. That gap is what DRS exists to close, and it's what the Signature Cropped Tops were designed to fix.

What we printed

DRS's run was a bulk order, so it went through our offline method rather than the online checkout - arranged by email, with sizes, quantities and deadline confirmed before anything was printed. Printed apparel only: tees and tops. DRS's sneakers and jewellery aren't ours; we didn't make them and we don't claim them. The print work carries the brand's design language onto garments: sakura for Japanese automotive heritage, checkered patterns for racing heritage, JDM art from the golden era of Japanese tuning, and a gold monogram as their signature mark.

Feminine without being soft

DRS's own words: "DRS isn't just a brand - it's the outfit the car scene was missing." The merch had to look like the scene, fit the people in it, and not apologise for either. That's a brief we can print to.

Jess is local to us, too - years around the scene at TWS Brendale, a car-meet venue about 15 minutes from our Griffin (QLD) hub. Working with a brand that knows its community that precisely makes the print brief easier, not harder.

Where brands get stuck

Sizing for a mixed audience

If your community isn't one body shape, one size run won't serve it. Bring the actual size breakdown, not an estimate.

Artwork that won't print well

Fine detail, soft gradients and thin reversed text all need a different method. We check every file before production and tell you which of DTG, DTF or screen printing reproduces it best - before it's printed, not after.
